SafeAI Welcomes Senior Vice President of Engineering
Patel brings a deep expertise in robotics and automation systems to SafeAI, including more than a decade of experience developing and deploying autonomous systems at companies like Apple, Tesla and Caterpillar. Immediately prior to joining SafeAI, Patel was the co-founder and CTO of Udelv, an autonomous delivery company. As the founding engineering executive, Patel built a world-class, multidisciplinary engineering team and led the development of three generations of autonomous delivery vehicles, deployed for on-road deliveries with clients such as Walmart.

Patel brings extensive experience demonstrating technical hands-on leadership through the engineering development cycle across multifarious organizations. As SVP of Engineering, he will play an instrumental role in supporting SafeAI’s existing customers and ensuring they hit their operational milestones. In addition, he will be focused on advancing the development of SafeAI’s industry-leading autonomous technology solutions.

This announcement comes on the heels of a year of momentous growth for SafeAI, including partnerships with MACA to deploy 100 mining trucks, and with Obayashi and Accelera Traction Systems on a collaboration for vehicle electrification and autonomy. SafeAI more than doubled its headcount in 2022 and is continuing to expand its operations within the U.S., Australia, Japan, and India.
